Tom O’Neill
President, South Florida First Responders Foundation, Inc.
Tom O’Neill is the President and co-founder of the South Florida First Responders Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and supporting the brave men and women who serve our community. With decades of experience as an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard across multiple agencies in South Florida, including Pompano Beach Ocean Rescue, Tom has committed his career to safeguarding others while recognizing the often-unseen challenges first responders face.
Motivated by personal loss and a vision to create meaningful change, Tom helped establish the Foundation and its signature event, the Heroes Run, to provide vital mental health resources and wellness support for first responders and their families. Under his leadership, the Foundation continues to transform gratitude into action—building resilience, fostering hope, and ensuring that those who sacrifice so much for others are never left to stand alone.
A longtime South Florida resident since 2008, Tom cherishes time with his grown daughter, whom he holds close to his heart. Away from his professional commitments, he finds balance in the outdoors—skiing during the winter months and enjoying South Florida’s waters through diving, fishing, and boating. These passions reflect his deep connection to nature and the community he proudly calls home.
